Raven Clan
The Raven Clan was founded by Frederick the Just in the year 821 after he and members of his family settled near the river Ems and built the homestead of Ravens Keep. The original clan members consisted of Frederick, his wife Delenn and their three daughters, Fredericks younger sisters Sorcha and Eadwine and their three sons, Fredericks nephew Spinne and his wife and five children, a local merchant Trelvyn Kisslhiem and two refugees from the Burgundy region; the Lady Adala Landauer and a man known only as Cloud.
Before converting to christianity Fredericks family had followed the old religions and had worshiped the God Woden. The Raven was one of Wodens animal totems so Frederick's family had used the Raven as it's symbol. To show his devotion to the God Woden and the old ways Frederick chose to keep the Raven symbol and named his new family group the Raven Clan both in honor of the God Woden and in defiance of those who had tried to force him to convert to the new religion of christianity.
The Raven Clan is an open and peacefull people but are fierce warroirs when defending thier homes and freedoms. While the Ravens did not embrace christianity neither did they comdem it or persicute those who followed it. Each member was allowed to follow his or her own way as long as they did not try to force that way on another or bring dissention to the Clan.
